We invite you to Finger Lakes, New York May, 2010 for a month of all things Riesling. From special Riesling tastings with some of the area's leading winemakers, Riesling themed dinners, to getaway packages including complimentary bottles of Finger Lakes Rieslings, there is an abundance of events and promotions all month long. Those participating wineries will be posted their Riesling Month signs and there will be something happening everyday all month!

May 7, 5-7 p.m. ~ Rockwell Museum of Western Art: First Friday. Kick off your weekend with an insider's look into the Rockwell Museum's fine art collection while enjoying Finger Lakes Rieslings and cheese tastings. FREE event.
May 9-10 and May 23-24 ~ Fulkerson Winery (Seneca Lake) will host FREE vertical tastings on many of their Riesling vintages.
May 8-9 and May 15-16 ~ Atwater Estate Vineyard (Seneca Lake) will host a special cheese and Riesling paring.
May-10 ~ King Ferry Winery (Cayuga Lake) will host a FREE special tasting from 10 a.m-4 p.m. Come taste three vintages of Treleaven Dry Riesling: 2006-2008. These vintages will also be available for individual purchase or as a three pack.

May 15, 4-6 p.m.~ Fox Run Vineyards will host a special six Riesling vertical tasting, featuring wines from 2001-2006 with winemaker, Peter Bell, at the NY Wine & Culinary Center in Canandaigua. May 15, 1-3 p.m.~ Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard (Seneca Lake) will host a special "90+ Wine Spectator" tasting of five its Rieslings from this and last year's vintage in the company of winemaker and co-owner, Fred Merwarth. May 22, 12:00 p.m. ~ Ravines Wine Cellars (Keuka Lake) will host a Unique Taste of Ravines, with French trained Oenologiest/Winemaker and owner of Ravines, Morten Hallgren. The event will feature lunch and a vertical tasting of every Dry Riesling vintage Morten has produced, since opening the winery in 2002, including two 90+ Wine Spectator wines. May 27-30 ~ GlassFest in Corning's Gaffer District, will feature live glass-blowing seminars and neon-glass exhibits. In addition, attend a special wine and food tasting event on Friday, May 28 featuring Finger Lakes Rieslings and local breweries.
May 1-31 ~ Exclusive vertical tasting including 2002 - 2007 Ingle Vineyard Riesling available at Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake and Tasting Room on Seneca Lake. Wines will also be for sale at both locations.
May 3-28 ~ Sheldrake Point Vineyard: experience the difference a glass makes to the aromas and taste of wine. For $8 per person, taste 2006 Reserve Riesling and 2007 Riesling into a flight of four Riedel glasses. The tasting will be held every hour on the half-hour and limited to six people. Participants can purchase the two wines at a discount. Reservations are preferable but not necessary.

Knapp Vineyard Restaurant will offer Riesling Asparagus soup daily for the month of May ($4 - $5). Try the Riesling Peach Ice Cream, made from Knapp Winery Riesling and Cayuga Creamery -- available in the tasting room. Also, try the Melon Gazpach soup -- available in the tasting room on Wed.-Fri. during May. This soup pairs great with Riesling!
Union Block Italian Bistro - Each week in May, Chef Craig Wilson will pair specific appetizers with a Riesling from one of four Keuka Lake wineries. Over the weekend he will create Special dishes to complement that week's featured Riesling which will be available along with our regular menu. Also, Thursday tastings are free & open to the public from 5-7 p.m.
Veraisons Restaurant - Throughout the month of May they will offer Glenora’s Riesling and Chef prepared cheesecake in the Retail Shop to all of our patrons. Veraisons will also feature Glenora Rieslings by the glass.
