For wineries interested in exploring the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in their businesses and the greater wine industry, the FLWA will offer a new seminar with Paula Ioanide, PhD of Rise to Equity Excellence. Winery owners and management staff are encouraged to attend a two-hour seminar at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen, where participants will be introduced to best practices wineries can adopt and benefits to leveraging the power of diversity and inclusive, equitable cultures.

Paula will have private thirty minute blocks for one-on-one coaching sessions available immediately following the seminar. FLWA members will have the opportunity to sign up for time slots ahead of time as well as the day of the seminar. Multiple staff from the same winery may attend the private coaching sessions.

May 10, 2022

Jeremy Schubert of Lunabean Media returns to the Finger Lakes in 2022 for our first in-person workshop since 2019. Winery staff engaged in digital marketing are encouraged to attend a full- day workshop hosted at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen.

Session content is created based on Jeremy’s first-hand experience as a marketing expert for the wine industry, and input from FLWA attendees themselves. Past topics range from the ever- changing social media climate and Google Analytic usage to email marketing trends and website best practices.

Many thanks to our Program Underwriters, Niagara Label and Waterloo Container, who help make this workshop possible.

June 7, 2022 (tentatively scheduled)

Each year the FLWA invites an accomplished winemaker and an expert from the trade/media to discuss a featured varietal. 2022 will feature Lemberger/Blaufränkisch with 8-10 distinctive wines to help increase familiarity with benchmark examples.

The 2022 Masterclass will be split into two separate sessions; one for staff involved in the production of wine, and the other for all other winery personnel interested in expanding their knowledge of the grape. The goal is to help create a better understanding throughout the industry about what makes this grape so well suited for growing and wine production in the Finger Lakes.
