As part of the Finger Lakes Wine Month promotion in August, the FLWA will host approximately 20-30 trade and media from the Rochester and Albany markets for one-day visits to the region. A bus will bring groups to host wineries for a progressive experience where the story of Finger Lakes wine can be told by host and attending wineries.
Each bus will visit 3 host wineries and attendees have opportunities to interact multiple attending wineries at each stop. All wineries will participate in visits from both markets.
In return, retailers participating in the program will be asked to host at least two in-store Finger Lakes wine tasting events in August. Participating restaurants or wine bars are asked to serve at least one Finger Lakes wine by the glass or host a Finger Lakes wine event in August. Media is asked to produce one article about Finger Lakes wine published on their own platform, as well as create social media content during their visit. Trade participants complete an online form to be listed on the Finger Lakes Wine Month website, media articles are shared upon publication. Event planning and logistics for tasting events are the responsibility of the wine retailers, distributors, and participating wineries.
